Another tool that can be found in the NT 3.5 Resource Kit is "ClearMem"
which is sort of the equivelent to "avail flush" on the Amiga.  It'll shift
through the memory looking for things it can free up (ie: freed memory
blocks that haven't been flushed via _heapmem() calls).  I believe the RK
files can be had for free on the Microsoft ftp site somewhere.  Otherwise, I
can pop it on Tomahawk when I compute at home.
